Chronic Pain and Chiropractic Care
There are many conditions that Dr. Lindstrom has a successful track record of treating. Here are some of the conditions that people will generally seek out chiropractic care for:
Chiropractic Care and Arthritis
Arthritis - Light Therapy has been used extensively for more than 20 years throughout the world to treat many conditions. These conditions include soft-tissue injuries, pain, and inflammatory conditions. Now there is exciting news about Light Therapy. The FDA has approved the use of Light Therapy to treat the pain and stiffness that is associated with arthritis. Due to the reports that are being published regarding the safety of traditional arthritis medications, Light Therapy offers a safe alternative.

Light Therapy has undergone a lot of research and is backed by extensive research. There are hundreds of published studies covering a wide range of conditions that can benefit from light therapy including arthritis.
Light Therapy treatments are easy to apply and do not take up much of a patient's time. Most Light Therapy treatments last less than five minutes in duration and serves as a great compliment to traditional soft-tissue treatments. To receive the optimal results of light therapy, 2 - 3 treatments per week are desirable.
Light Therapy is not only a beneficial method for treating arthritis. People with heel pain, neck pain, hand pain, knee pain, elbow pain, and even TMJ will love the benefits of Light Therapy.
Chiropractic Care and Subluxation Degeneration

If spinal damage goes uncorrected the body deposits calcium deposits on bone surfaces that are adjacent to bones that are not moving properly. Over time, if this condition is not treated, bones may become completely fused. This process is called Subluxation Degeneration. This process can occur throughout the entire spine. Researchers have pointed out the different phases of spinal decay:
-
PHASE ONE: Usually seen as the misalignment and malfunction of the spine. During this phase, the normal motion, curves, and disc spacings in the spine are altered. The first phase usually goes undetected because the body adapts to these changes in the spine. The degeneration will continue if this condition is not treated.
-
PHASE TWO: During this phase, there will be signs of the condition that will appear in a X-ray. There will be visible bone spurs and rough edges on the vertebrae of the spine. In phase two there still may not be any pain present.
-
PHASE THREE: If the condition goes untreated, eventual fusion of the spine, atrophy, permanent nerve damage, and soft tissue damage will be prevalent. This will cause reduced mobility and impaired nervous system function. This will diminish a person's quality of life. This is a condition that you would not want to leave untreated.
Chiropractic Care and Headaches
The malfunctioning of spinal bones in the neck and upper back is a frequent and overlooked cause of headaches. Sensitive nerves and blood vessels to the head can be affected when the spine loses its normal position or motion. Even though aspirin or other medications may cover up the warning signs that there is a problem with the spine, they do not correct the problem.

Chiropractic care should be considered when a thorough exam reveals reduced range of motion, loss of normal spinal curves, or mechanical restrictions. Dr. Lindstrom will work with you to determine the care you need and design a program for your unique spinal problem.
Many patients over the years have reported great relief from their headaches after receiving chiropractic care. The recovery time for all patients will be different. The severity of the condition and the amount of time that the condition has existed will play a part in the patient's overall recovery time. The longer you wait, the more severe the condition will progress.
Just because a lot of people get headaches, it does not mean that they are just a part of life. Start getting relief from your headaches today.
Chiropractic Care and Lower Back Pain

The facet joints, which are located at the back of each spinal bone, is where many of the pain-sensing nerves of the spine are located. The surfaces of these facet joints are normally smooth surfaces, but they can become rough, irritated, and inflamed. The surgical removal of these facet joints exposes the spine.
A bulging disc can put put pressure on the spinal cord or a nearby nerve root causing lower back pain. Common symptoms of this can be numbness, tingling, or pain down the leg. A common treatment of this is to cut away the bulging disc tissue. This can permanently alter its ability to separate and cushion the adjacent bones.
What can chiropractic care do for this problem? Dr. Lindstrom will work to restore a more normal motion and position of the affected spinal bones. His approaches have proven to be very effective in treating lower back problems.
Chiropractic Care and Neck Pain
A common treatment for neck pain is for people to use aspirin, pain pills, muscle relaxers, massage, or hot packs. Unfortunately, these treatments too often only mask the pain but do not treat it.
Dr. Lindstrom will approach your neck pain by treating what is the cause of the neck pain. He will start your treatment by gathering a thorough health history intake and exam. He will determine the structure and function of the spine to determine the cause of the neck pain. By determining where there is improper structure in the spine and other skeletal structure, he will determine how to approach your specific needs. He will realign your spine to assist in reducing your neck pain without addictive drugs.
Chiropractic Care and Sciatica
The sciatic nerves are the largest and longest nerves in the body. They are usually as round as your thumb and extend from the lower back all the way down the back of the leg. Sciatica is the condition that occurs when these nerves become irritated or inflamed.
Vertebral Subluxation Complex is one of the most common causes of sciatic leg pain. This can also be accompanied by a bulging or herniated disc. This can put pressure on the sciatic nerves and cause intense pain shooting down the back of the legs.
Pain medications, muscle relaxers, physical therapy, and surgery have been the normal treatments for this problem. Dr. Lindstrom's approach to this problem is to work with the spine to remove the pressure from these nerves. His adjustments are very effective in reducing this pain. This is another health problem that may be related to the spine. Through adjustments, the spine is restored to its proper position which alleviates the pain.

Chiropractic Care and Whiplash
One of the most common causes of whiplash is a rear-end collision accident. The head is suddenly jerked back and forth beyond its normal limits. This causes the ligaments and muscles that support the head and spine to become overstretched or torn. The discs between the spinal bones can become torn, ruptured, or bulge. This will force the vertebrae to be out of position and limit the range of motion.
This condition can cause headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, pain in the shoulders, arms and hands, reduce your ability to turn or bend, and may even cause lower back pain. Symptoms may not be present for weeks or even months because the body will try to adjust.
Dr. Lindstrom will approach this condition with chiropractic adjustments. This will help to return the spine to normal functions. After a diagnosis is determined, he will recommend a treatment plan to quickly get you back to the life you were used to leading before your accident.
Do not live with chronic headaches, take addictive medications or undergo surgery before consulting Dr. Lindstrom!
